According to several sources on Twitter, trainer Wesley Ward made the announcement Friday morning, saying that the partnership that owns the colt have decided to point him towards the Preakness Stakes May 17.
As a result, a 19-horse field will go to the post in the 140th Kentucky Derby; officials have announced that post 1 in the starting gate will be left open, and horses 1-10 will shift outward one stall.
